Pictured above is one
side of a 33 1/3 rpm LP
that apparently came with a generic white cover.
The radio program "Voices of VISTA" promoted
VISTA:
Since 1965, over 120,000 Americans have
performed national service as VISTA Volunteers. VISTA (Volunteers In
Service To America) places individuals with community-based agencies
to help find long-term solutions to the problems caused by urban and
rural poverty.
A number of musicians took part in the programs
to help the cause. For Program No. 41, Bill Evans was the guest and
it contained music, interviews, and VISTA promo commercials. Of the
four musical selections that were in the program, all were Verve
recordings and three involved Claus Ogerman:
Jazz Samba - [with Jim Hall, guitar
- from the "Intermodulation" LP] - composed by Claus Ogerman.
Time Remembered and Prelude (Scriabin) [from the
"Bill Evans Trio With Symphony Orchestra" LP] were arranged and
conducted by Claus Ogerman.
The other side of the LP has three four-minute
VISTA promos with Billy Joe Royal, Mitch Ryder & The Detroit
Wheels, and The Critters; the musical selections are taken from
commercial releases.

[The above CD version of the Bill Evans album "Symbiosis" (composed,
arranged & conducted by Claus Ogerman) was found on an internet
auction site; it either has a horrendous misprint on the back cover
(talking about a Motown reissue of another completely different
album) or it is a bootleg, even though the front cover is marked as a
"[DJ] Promo Only" issue...it contains no catalog number or
record label with which to identify itself.
As such, it is not included in the official text listing info for
this album.]
Various Artists, "A
Jazz Life", (label unknown) #_______ (1982).
Contains compositions by Claus Ogerman.
