***This "Desafinado"

a legitimate release of the included material. It is believed
to be a bootleg for the following reasons: rights to reissue these
tracks originally found in four different LPs/CDs are not mentioned
anywhere in the package, the producers of the original material (of
which, Claus Ogerman is one) are not mentioned anywhere in the
package, and liner notes for this CD were plagerized verbatim from
another website containing text information on Claus Ogerman's
career. In addition, this disc is only available from one online
store in Europe.***

großen Autoren des "Great American Songbook" - George Gershwin,
Cole Porter, Irving Berlin - genannt.
In English, as translated by Wolfgang Weissbrodt:
Down to the present day, American music journalists mention Tom Jobim
regularly in one breath along with the greatest authors of the "Great
American Songbook" - George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin. In
Brasil the president ordered three days of statewide mourning when
Jobim’s passing became known. And in Tom’s hometown Rio de
Janeiro they named the international airport after him. Originally
Brazilian Antonio Carlos "Tom" Jobim (1927-1994) desired to become an
architect, but his pronounced musical sense stripped him of all
energies. In the nightclubs of Rio the 20 year-old university scholar
accompanied his own songs with piano and guitar, in 1958 he met the
then unknown Brazilian singer João Gilberto and finally became the
architect of Bossa Nova. Famous jazz-standards like "The Girl from Ipanema"
or "Desafinado" originate from Jobim’s pen und spread internationally
in the early sixties mainly through saxophonist Stan Getz and guitarist
Charlie Byrd. Jobim, who sang in English and Portuguese language,
recorded numerous records in collaboration with arranger Claus Ogerman,
among others he arranged and composed for were Frank Sinatra, Nelson
Riddle and Aretha Franklin.
